Neurodiversity celebration week brings a spotlight to the differences that neurodivergent people have.
Often these differences are viewed through the lens of a neurotypical society and therefore seen as wrong or disabling.
Equally often this is what brings clients to counselling, their perceived 'wrongness'.
They may have been told throughout their lives they are 'weird', 'strange' or just noticed how differently they are treated.
Instead, many different organisations and individuals who are in and/or support neurodivergent communities come together to promote a more inclusive society, that is able to recognise the potential of difference.
One such place is Lexxic who run many fantastic events both throughout this week and continuously through the year.
